$125 per year (plus $50 initiation, one time) NOTE: If you are presently a Regular Member and are upgrading to Regular Family the initiation fee has already been paid and therefore will not apply a second time. A Regular member’s spouse or partner may apply for Associate Membership without cost. A Regular member’s children who live at home and are under the age of 21 may apply for Junior or Associate membership without cost.
Associate Family Membership: Available to anyone who otherwise meets the Associate Membership criteria (see membership page).
$60 per year (no initiation fee) An Associate Member’s spouse or partner may also apply for Associate Membership without cost. An Associate Member’s children who live at home and are under the age of 21 may apply for Junior or Associate membership without cost.
The key to this is each family member MUST APPLY for membership to become a member! A separate application and risk release form must be filled out for or by each family member!

Operating at ALS: As ALS Members you may safely operate large scale equipment when you have successfully completed the Engineer Quiz. It is MUCH more convenient to fill out and submit the quiz online. Otherwise at a meet you may sit in on Scheduled Rules Sessions followed by the Engineer Quiz.
If you submit the quiz for grading be sure you submit it at least FIVE DAYS before the beginning of the meet as there is no computer access at ALS. If you do not receive a score in a return email it was not graded and therefore will not count.

Directions to ALS
Adirondack Live Steamers is a private club located on private land. We can not be open to the public due to a land deed restriction.
However, we enthusiastically welcome any and all that have an interest in live steaming of any sort, and especially live steam trains and large-scale model railroading in particular. If you are interested in obtaining further information and directions to ALS, please E-mail an inquiry to the ALS contact.
The Adirondack Live Steamers, in an effort to promote safety, have
adopted a set of rules governing the operation of engines and trains on
our premises. To ensure that ALL engineers are qualified, the safety committee
will be following this established policy as of January, 2005.
A listing of qualified Engineers will be kept in a “loose leaf binder” containing the
individuals graded “Quiz” (good for three years), the date that he/she was
accompanied by a pilot over the ALS main line,and any safety related information concerning that person. Only those named Engineers on that list will be able to operate alone ( without a responsible, qualified engineer onboard), or haul passengers on the ALS trackage.

and the results E-mailed back to you, by “clicking” on the line of type below:
